About this project
The task...
To capture the awe of outer space through our history with space travel.
The report...
I decided to visualize the data in the form of comparison in the space travel during the 20th and the 21st century, or to look at the past and the present side by side. To accomplish this, I used the date of the first mission for a company/ rocket as a criterion for inclusion in one of the two centuries. Of course, such categorization is relative, and we really cannot draw a line between the two centuries as there are companies that launched their first spacecraft in the 20th century and continued conducting missions in the 21st century (same is valid for the rockets). Moreover, the two centuries are marked by different aspirations, technology advancements, and monetary allocations when the space exploration and utilization is of concern. Still, such approach captures some of the dynamics in the space missions across the two centuries.
