I am an educator and data analyst in love with data viz, Excel and Power BI .
Previously I served as a scholarship director for 2 scholarship programs, including daily operations, budgeting and disbursements, new scholar selection, and mentoring recipients. In an effort to gain deeper insight, I requested a database to track and evaluate the program. This led to 3 years of researching and testing databases, along with designing implementation plans and doing cost analyses. I also began cleaning, merging and normalizing 20 years of Excel records to prepare for migration.
After my scholarship position was eliminated it was devastating, but I embrace change, so I opened my arms to the next chapter. My work with the scholarships led me to data analysis, and I became hooked. I have been in nerd heaven learning Power BI and discovering more Excel formulas and functions. I even used them to track my holiday shopping! I am so excited for the new and unpredictable road ahead.
